This study examines population genetics. It begins with a description of the Hardy-Weinberg-balance and the terms for which a population is in Hardy-Weinberg-balance, by emphasizing the evolutionary mechanisms that are the main reasons for the direction in which the different species have been and are developing in. There is a mathematical proof of how the distribution of genotypes are in a population that is en Hardy-Weinberg-balance is calculated. The evaluating and the arguing part of the study are centered about the blood groups in the populations Island, Norway and Denmark. The frequency of the alleles IA, IB and i are calculated by using the Hardy-Weinberg-law, and assume that the populations are in balance. At last it is considered if there is difference in the phenotype-frequencies between the three populations by a chi-square test. The results of the chi-square test are discussed by emphasizing on the history of the three countries.

en HWB = in HWB
evaluating = evaluation
populations Island = populations of Iceland
and assume = assuming/assumes (kommer lidt an på hvad du mener)
