In the beginning of 1996 the public became highly alarmed because of the news about 10 youngish people in Great Britain who had died as a consequence of a disease which possibly could have been transferred via meat from cattle with mad cow disease. The reactions came promptly: prohibition law in the EU against importation of British beef and a decision to slaughter millions of cows in Great Britain. This is a huge task both in an organizationally and economically aspect: approximately 15.000 cows are to be slaughtered weekly but in addition to this the problem is that once the cattle is slaughtered it has to be incinerated and for the time there is not sufficiency plants in the country to solve the big task.

Et komma eller 2 ville ikke skade, sidste linie:
"there is not sufficiency plants.." jeg er ikke helt med på hvad du oversætter fra, men ville nok mene at du skal sige "there isn't a sufficient amount of plants.."

This is a huge task both in organizational and economical aspects. - det andet var lidt ved siden af, spørg mig ikke hvorfor, er elendig til at huske grammatiske regler etc..

In the beginning of 1996 the public became highly alarmed! The reason was the news of 10 young people in Great Britain, who had died as a consequence of a disease, which might be directly linked to the deadly mad-cow disease. The possibility exists that the disease was transferred through meat from cattle with mad cow disease to the affected people. [Ovenstående er korrigeret]

You have to make up your mind if you wish to write in present- or past tense!! If you write both, it clearly states that you can't master the English language to the degree - which I take it should.
The last section has not been altered, thereby not implying it is flawless :)....
