Write a summary of Children teased and bullied at school over healthy food choices in not more than 150 words.
Peer pressure is known among kids and young people. Today has this peer pressure a bigger influence on our decisions than ever. How we eat, what we eat, where we eat and when we eat.
The text is admitting the problem we are living with today without knowing how to handle it.
The food is sorted by groups in schools and every group who has the same interest eats the same.
So if the group likes to eat chocolate-cake and you are a part of the group you can’t just say no thanks for a chocolate-cake, you will be judged like a ‘’ not normal’’ or ‘’not modern’’ person.
Researches discovered that it is almost impossible to young children to choose a healthy meal. But it would be different if you are raised up in society where it is important to eat and live healthy and to be careless about others opinion.
How do the four texts try to account for the fact that obesity has become such a serious issue?
The four texts are trying to bring the problem up by telling us about the researches. Obesity has seriously become a big problem especially in the U.S. Over 30 percent of American adults are obese and the tally is 16.5 percent among the 6- to 19-year-old group. To know if you got a normal weight you could check your body mass index which is normal if your BMI is between 18-23.
A research has been working with over 149 obese women, and their BMI was over 30.
The eat habits in the U.S are really dangerous for the Americans. If they will continuo to eat this way they will end up by killing themselves slowly.
Girls have also a problem in this case. A lot of the celebrities are very thin and could maybe have anorexia or bulimia disease which is very known today among girls. If young girls are obese in a young age they surely want to lose weight to look like these celebrities. And typically every person wants to lose weight very fast therefore they maybe will end up having anorexia or bulimia. So there is a big risk!
It could also be reversed as if girls could starve themselves as young girls, and when they grow up they will end up by eating too much, which will result obesity. In this case, television and entertainment has also an influence on our weight and healthiness.
Young children can watch television in over 3hours a day, it means 21 hours pr. Week, and they would surely eat while watching cartoon or a movie. These children could also end up having obesity. There are many facts that play a role in this serious issue the most important thing to do is to exercise and eat healthy. That doesn’t mean that you can’t eat some chocolate or ice cream but you should balance your eat habits.
“Obese people have brought this problem upon themselves so they must deal with it themselves.” Comment on this attitude.
I don’t agree. The most important reason why I think the claim is not right is that obesity is not a controlling disease. And a lot of people who is obese has maybe mental problems, and they don’t know how to handle these problems because they are not been told how to do.
Another reason is that it maybe could be a genetic disease which is very hard to handle or to solve, because it is something which is in your blood that you can’t change.
It is maybe right to blame the person if the person who is obese has been told that it is unhealthy to eat too much without exercising, and he still did it because he have never heard about obesity. That is a bad argument that will never be taken seriously. And if every person would use the same argument we will never be able to blame ourselves. It is important to know how to live healthy and where to get help when you feel that you are overeating. That is important to tell every person even if he is young or old. It could always be a positive beginning.
