HASTER - Engelsk Stil

Godmorgen/Hej alle sammen!

Jeg har siddet og skrevet en engelsk stil, og den skal afleveres i aften. 
Ville gerne have noget feedback, fordi jeg føler mig lidt usikker omkring selve indholdet, hvorvidt jeg har opfyldt kravene til stilen eller ej. Here you go, først skriver jeg oplægget, derefter stilen:

Oplægget:

This assignment is a mini essay of 500-700 words and 4 hours.

Include an introduction in which you present the text(s) and tell your reader what you intend to deal with in your essay. You should also include a conclusion at the end of your essay which sums up the points you have made and the interesting things you have found while working on your essay.

Remember to document your findings using either quotations or paraphrase according to what is appropriate.

Der er så flere opgavetyper, men jeg har valgt den der hedder 3. Fantasy, her er oplægget til den:

Write an essay entitled 'Fantasy' in which you deal with aspects of the genre that you find interesting. Here, you may refer to any English text/book/or film version that you have ever read/seen, but you must use them as examples of the genre

Stilen: (btw, stilen fylder 649 ord uden overskrift og 651 med overskrift:

You see, there are a lot of fantasy stories. Some are films; some are novels that are written by known authors. There is many, too many to count actually. The one that will be used here is a movie; the movie’s name is ”Finding Neverland”. Finding Neverland is a perfect example of obstacles, supernatural creatures and the hero in the movie – the helper and lastly, but not finally – the opponent!

 In the beginning of the movie we gets introduced to James M. Barrie. James is writing a story and he meets Charles, Peter, Michael and their mom Sylvia L. Davies.
James is what could be defined as very very fantasyminded. He believes in fantasy and uses it as his way of living. He makes a little act, but here there is an obstacle. An outer obstacle… This obstacle is an inner obstacle for Michael. Michael does not believe in fantasy, he thinks everything is a lie. The reason is that once his dad passed away, he got lied to. This made him not believe in anything anymore. And throughout the movie he actually thinks that James is gonna betray him.
For  James though, there is an inner obstacle. He is already married, and he is spending way too much time with Sylvia and her family, which forces him to choose between the two of them. Either it is his own family, or Sylvia’s family. Throughout the film, James and his wife Mary gets separated as Mary finds a new partner and James spends more time with Sylvia and her family. Here there is yet obstacles, as Sylvia’s mom forbids James to spend any further time with the Davies family, and bans him for their home. Sylvia however is not satisfied with that decision, nor is the children, so at this point, where the grandma should be their helper, she becomes the opponent. Another obstacle appears as Sylvia gets sick – supposedly tubercolusis – and wants James which is forbidden to get near the Davies on order from their grandma, however after a little bit of time, he gets to the Davies family’s house, and at the very end – Sylvia dies. At her funeral Sylvia’s mom decides to take the co-guardianship with James and hereby Sylvia’s mom becomes his helper instead of his opponent. At last, Michael believes in fantasy.

The thing is, about this movie, is that, it is amazing how many obstacles there can be, but at the very end, the hero will get what he wants and what he deserves – which is one of the things that is amazing about fantasy stories. However, he is not our complete usual fantasy hero, as he knows about fantasy, however there is obstacles for him, which is one of the things that allows us to characterize him as the hero in this movie.

All this mentioned above was about the obstacles. What about the numbers of charm and the supernatural creatures? Well… the supernatural creatures are kind of hard to describe unless the picture is right in front of you – but actually – throughout the movie, before Sylvia dies, James and Sylvia’s children have prepared a play for her, which is the same play as Peter Pan, the same play as  the one that James have written. At this point, there is stardust, normal people flying and a fairy, all of these are supernatural creatures which are objects that is to be found in a lot of fantasy stories, if not all of them!

In fantasy stories, as said in the beginning, there is a lot of amazing things, and the mentioned above are just one of them. If you are bored and want to test your imagination, fantasy is a great way to do it. How far can you go? Can you imagine the creatures, the way the obstacles happens, and the way it all gets built up? Test yourself. Good luck!
