Abstract

Alternating current and complex numbers, physics and mathematics!
What kind of a phenomenon is phase and what costs phase shift within alternating current? These are some of the questions that are examined in this project. This paper introduces a description of the Alternating current, AC and its different circuit through complex numbers.
This paper contains also a representation of AC voltage and current, the different components and their quality in series connection and parallel connection. This project shows that the use of the complex numbers, for examination of phase shift and amplitude, makes it very easy to understand and calculate with these quantities. By using complex numbers we get a formula for calculating phase shift. After making two experiments with focus on phase shift my results show the validaty of the formula.
