Hej.

Er det ikke nogen, som er rigtig søde at rette min engelske stil igennem.

It was inevitable not to be fascinated and impressed of Florence. Florence was very much the epicentre of the Italian Renaissance and remains one of the world's top attractions for lovers of art. Florence is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The scenery of Florence and the rest of Tuscany are fantastic, because it is varied. Wine, olive and cypresses are only a very few of all the vegetation you can find. Florence is surrounded y vineyards and the whole Tuscany is one enormous wine-growing region, producing many types of wine, but Christi in particular. It is made from several different grapes.
Located in the heart of Tuscany, a stunning province of hills and mountains, the Renaissance capital of the world, with famous sons like Leonardo, Dante, Machiavelli and Michelangelo, is a sight not to be missed. The world famous Duomo with the Brunelleschi cupola and the marble clad baptistery are simply stupendous, but not all the monuments are like this.
The streets of the historic town centre are often narrow and dark, the palaces robust and intimidating. But have a look at the squares - wonderful Mediterranean places where you will like spending hours sitting down, having a cafe and just watching people passing by. However, Florence is a city of incomparable pleasure concerning churches, monasteries, museums, galleries and palaces. Among the things you can't afford to miss are the Uffizi Galleries, one of the best art museums in the world, the cathedral with the baptistery, the Santo Spirito church and the Ponte Vecchio. To get a great overview of the city, head for Piazza Michelangelo in Oltrarno (other side of river Arno) or farther up to the church of San Miniato.

The surroundings of Florence have many things to offer to the visitor as well as do the whole Florence Province. You can explore this region for weeks without being bored. For these day trips the city of Florence is the perfect starting point. People in Florence has cultural a very different attitude to life. It means that the Italian men gave the girls a “worm welcome”. Even in the mornings in Florence, where I was going for a run, the Italian men ran after me and wanted my telephone number, even thought I haven’t blond hair and blue eyes. Luckily I ran away from him by a hair's breadth.
Every year Florence makes a profit on tourism, but at the same time it has consequences. The vacation industry is a growing threat to the environment, because of tourists who leave litter and rubbish in the parks and on the streets. Therefore many places are unhygienic and in sanitary. To keep the streets free of litter takes a lot of money and time, and Florence isn’t equal to the task the duty. Tourists who come to enjoy nature inadvertently end by destroying it. Because of that I imagine an unpleasant situation of this tourist city, Florence, if we aren’t disposed to chance our behaviour when we are on holiday. Ecotourism can’t save our planet.
Florence never becomes a modern industrial powerhouse. Instead, its self-confident mercantile tradition never died out, and the city has enthusiastically embraced the service sector. Apart from the tentacles of the tourist industry, Florence hosts trade fairs and congresses yet remains a noted craft centre. Florentine fashion still commands attention, as the names Gucci, Pucci and Ferragamo imply. World history may be made in Rome; fashion and design may be centred on Milan; but Florence will forever be the capital of classic good taste.
Against a background of all that it is my hope; that Florence can survive in spite of the tourists’ unfavourable behaviour and conduct. What really matters is to start a positive development in Italy. The country has to be stabilized both political and financial. It would give the country the possibility to make demands on the tourists and afterwards send them back home if the don’t listen.
